Having a Kodi box setup at home watching your favorite content on a TV is a very nice thing to have. Streaming your favorite TV shows and movies straight into your home no-doubt gives hours of entertainment.
But what about when you are on-the-go and would like to watch your favorite content?
The DroidBOX GO is one such small device that makes Kodi very portable in a variety of scenarios.
It is a mini projector that works by projecting onto a wall or other flat surface.
First of all it is small and very portable about the size of a smartphone.
One side has HDMI, 2 USB ports, power, and head phone jack.
The front has a projector which can display on a flat surface such as a wall.
The DroidBOX Go is full of many more features so lets break it down to see what it can do.
The box comes well packaged with everything needed including the unit, remote control, power cable, HDMI cable, Instructions, European power adapter if needed, and a tripod with flexible legs to set the unit on.
The unit itself feels very well made, and while like a smartphone I wouldn’t want to drop it, it doesn’t have the feel of the many mass produced units available.
Hardware Overview
Rockchip RK3128 QuadCore ARM Corgex-A7 up to 1.2 GHz
1GB DDR3 RAM
32GB Internal Storage
SD-card slot to add more storage up-to 32GB

A small adjustable tripod comes with the unit that screws into the bottom and can be moved about easily.
Powering on the unit the projector displays onto a wall.
If the screen is blurry there is a screen adjuster on the left side near the projector lens that will clear the display up nicely.
Setting up the WiFi is easy by going into the settings.
A modified version of Kodi is used called DBMC which is based on Kodi Jarvis 16.1 and runs the same.
No add-ons are installed, but all the major repositories are added making it easy to install most any Kodi add-on out there.
Repositories include Fusion and Ares Wizard which contain all the popular add-ons such as Exodus or Phoenix.
Looking at summary information the unit was running well and using 1/4 of the processor and less than half the available RAM.
The DriodBox has many other features such as Miracast and HDMI input.
The HDMI input allows for other devices such as a laptop to project its display on a wall.
It also has dual band wireless-N WiFi which during a test with Speddtest.net maxed out my internet connection at 40Mbps Down, and 5Mbps UP.

Summary
I am currently still testing out the DroidBox Go mini projector and finding many more features built into it.
It is definitely a nice small unit that makes Kodi very portable and able to play most anywhere.
Besides using Kodi it can project the display from a laptop or other devices which is a good option for meetings, or even during family get-togethers for displaying photos and home movies.
The hardware is also impressive for such a small unit and comparable to some popular Kodi box options.
As always be sure to read the reviews on Amazon or elsewhere to be sure a unit is a good fit for you.
